Never underestimate the value in advertising by giving good customer service. Just last week my sister’s 1st Generation iPod Nano was recalled for a battery issue. She was told by Apple that she would recdive a refurbished 1st Generation replacement so she sent in to them. Imagine her surprise when they sent her a brand new latest generation Nano.
Do you think that she has a single friend on Facebook who hasn’t heard about this? She’s literally been telling everyone she knows how phenomenal Apple’s customer service is. What would this kind of public relations work cost?
To put the icing on the cake. As soon as I was beginning to write this blog post, I got a personal e-mail from my local Apple store business development manager to ask me how I was liking my new Macbook Pro and if there was anything they could help me with.
These guys are good.
Make great products, but always strive to surpass your customer’s expectations on service. If you hit their sweet spot they will scream it from the highest mountain.
